Team Leader

YVE Group is a specialist civil construction contractor installing water, gas and sewer pipes for the residential, industrial, commercial and infrastructure sectors across all metro areas of Melbourne and regional parts of Victoria and we are moving into the South Australian market

To support increased demand and continued growth of our business, we now have opportunities available for Team Leaders, Pipelayers, Operators, Labourers and Sewer and Water maintenance workers. 

Due to the large pipeline of continual work, we perform across all regions of Victoria and  South Australia, we can provide our valued team members with the opportunity to work close to home. Local jobs for local people!

ABOUT YOU

• Must have sewer and water industry experience.
• Experience with pipelaying (sewer, water and/or gas).
• Hold a Construction Induction Card.
• Hold a current driver’s licence.
• Relevant qualifications: Cert III Civil Construction, Excavator, Live Sewer or Pipelaying tickets

The Team Leaders will report directly to the Area Manager and will be responsible for:

• Managing all labour and plant operators on site
• Managing all subcontractors
• Preparing and communicating programming of works
• Timely ordering materials, equipment and plant
• Conducting inspections and Site Audits
• Updating Project Management Plans
• Administration including site diaries, docket signing, and timesheets
• Inducting all employees and subcontractors to site
• Communicating and ensuring SWMS, MSDS and Safety Plans are followed
• Reporting incidences
• Reporting progress and variations
• Conducting toolbox talks

The ideal Team Leader will have:

• Significant Construction Supervisory experience
• Operational experience in water and construction (min 10 years)
• Established relationships with water authorities
• Excellent client relationship management
• Excellent rapport with subcontractors
• Excellent problem identification and resolution skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent people management skills
