The Opportunity:

We are seeking to hire motivated Assistant Accountants, Accountants or Financial Accountants to support our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have obtained previous experience working in a typical business services role within an accounting firm and have practical end-to-end accounting knowledge. Candidates with Bookkeeping and Accounts Payable experience are also encouraged to apply.

 

Any given day may see you…

  • End-to-end accounting, such as:
    • General bookkeeping, reconciliations and ledger maintenance
    • Accounts payable
    • Accounts receivable
    • Bank reconciliations and payments
    • Month-end close
    • Various reporting and consolidations
    • Management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and scenario analysis
  • Tax compliance (generally)
    • Year-end close, and supporting workpapers
    • Tax review and tax calculations, including assisting with tax consolidations
    • BAS/IAS preparation and lodgement
  • General support to the wider group on a range of other accountancy and taxation matters, as required

 

Here’s what we are looking for…

  • Good working knowledge of financial processes, accounting principles and tax concepts, including an ability to analyse financial information and reconcile accounts
  • Proven experience in bookkeeping and year-end close to support the annual statutory accounts and tax returns
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with various accounting software programs (such as Xero, MYOB, Timberline, Sage Intacct)
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce or business.
  • CA/CPA qualified, or part-way through is desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team and independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
