Project Survey Manager

Survey Management Solutions has an exciting new opportunity for a Project Survey Manager to join our team!

Any given day may see you… 

• Liaising with Foreman/Plant Operators/Labourers how set out is to be used
• Liaising with Foreman regarding site activities and ensure required information is in place for next activity
• Conducting site visits to ensure client is supported by correct technologies
• Overseeing and ensure all equipment is maintained to a high standard
• Conducting site visits to supervise and mentor staff to ensure procedural accuracy
• Working with the project team to produce and maintain spatial data & reports to facilitate project handover
• Undertaking computations and required checks to create 3D models for GPS machines and equipment
• Liaising with the Project Managers and/or Consultants to resolve design conflicts and
• Maintaining detailed quality register, rework and variation registers
• Maintaining Survey Data, including Control, Utilities, Design data, Field Data & As Constructed
• Overseeing equipment tracking, utilisation and billing contracts
• Working with the project ensuring data is in accordance with the digital specifications
• Reviewing and approve timesheet entries of direct reports daily

Here’s what we are looking for… 

As a Survey Manager you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of surveying activities. A critical part of the role will be the ability to work closely with other project stakeholders, such as Engineers, the Quality Team and Clients to ensure all surveying requirements are met and delivering the project to a successful completion.

They must:

• Hold relevant qualifications in either Survey, Spatial Science and/or Geometrics
• Minimum 7 years’ experience as a Senior Surveyor or Project Survey Manager
• Extensive experience on civil construction projects including rail, roads, services & structures
• Demonstrate exposure to using Total Stations is advantageous coupled with experience using GPS equipment, machine guidance technology, 12D field or similar computation software
• Strong ability to manage and lead a team of Surveyors
• Demonstrated ability in proactively building relationships with key stakeholders and team members.
• Be outcomes focused and have the ability plan and keep organised.
• Have a customer focused mindset.
• An attitude that engages all individuals by way of clear communication and effective interaction.
